\u201cF\u00fcr den mutigen Einsatz f\u00fcr Klimagerechtigkeit und die Rechte betroffener Gemeinden, die durch ausbeuterische Energieprojekte in Uganda verletzt werden.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Africa Institute for Energy Governance (AFIEGO) ist eine ugandische Organisation, die Gemeinden dabei unterst\u00fctzt, sich gegen umweltsch\u00e4dliche Projekte bei der \u00d6l- und Gasf\u00f6rderung zu wehren. Durch Lobbyarbeit, Medienkampagnen sowie lokale und internationale rechtliche Schritte hat AFIEGO daf\u00fcr gesorgt, dass die Stimmen der Gemeinden bei Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger*innen Geh\u00f6r finden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Entdeckung der kommerziellen \u00d6lreserven Ugandas im Jahr 2006 hat in den vergangenen Jahren vermehrt zu Landraub, illegalen Vertreibungen und Umweltzerst\u00f6rung gef\u00fchrt. Das 2005 gegr\u00fcndete AFIEGO ist heute ein wichtiger Akteur zum Schutz der Rechte betroffener Gemeinschaften.Insbesondere setzt sich die Organisation daf\u00fcr ein, den Bau der East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) zu stoppen, die Roh\u00f6l aus Uganda zu einem Hafen in Tansania transportieren soll. Die Dokumentation und Ver\u00f6ffentlichung der Auswirkungen der geplanten Pipeline auf die lokalen Gemeinden durch AFIEGO hat ma\u00dfgeblich dazu beigetragen, dass es heute internationalen Druck gibt, um den Bau zu stoppen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Arbeit von AFIEGO erf\u00e4hrt immer wieder heftige Gegenreaktionen seitens der ugandischen Regierung. Mitarbeiter*innen werden bedroht, schikaniert, festgenommen und inhaftiert. AFIEGO k\u00e4mpft jedoch unerschrocken weiter f\u00fcr den Umweltschutz und das Wohlergehen der betroffenen Gemeinden \u2013 mit juristischen Mitteln und indem die Organisation den Stimmen der Zivilgesellschaft Geh\u00f6r verschafft. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n
