CAAT calls for investigation of use of Swedish weapons in Burma military operations

Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) demanded that Sweden immediately ascertain which third party country was involved in selling Swedish weapons to Burma, after a startling and damning revelation that these weapons were used in Burmese military operations against ethnic rebel groups.

Anne-Marie O’Reilly, CAAT Outreach Coordinator, added that Sweden needs reconsider its priorities: “Why push exports which ultimately make the world less secure when similar skills and resources are needed for beneficial sectors such as renewable energy technology?”
