Right Livelihood is looking for a part-time Communications Consultant focusing on Eastern Europe. The role will assist with communications and media outreach in Eastern Europe. The position is remote-working but it would be advantageous for the consultant to be located in Eastern Europe, Geneva, Stockholm or Berlin.

Purpose of the role

To help boost the profile of Right Livelihood, we are looking for an experienced communications professional to assist with communications and media outreach in the Eastern Europe region (Eastern EU countries, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia). As an integral part of a small but growing international team, this role will require both autonomy and strong teamwork in order to meet organisational needs. You will report to the Head of Communications.

Main responsibilities

  • Creating written and multimedia content in English for our channels about Right Livelihood Laureates and their work with special attention to topics affecting Eastern Europe and Laureates from the region
  • Press outreach to raise Laureates’ and Right Livelihood’s profile in regional media

Required experience and qualifications

  • Demonstrated writing skills in English and a regional language
  • Excellent knowledge of regional politics and strong news judgement
  • Experience with media outreach and press work

Desirable experience and qualifications

  • Understanding of the work of Right Livelihood Laureates
  • Knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian

Terms of employment

This is a part-time (50%) consultancy for six months: August 15, 2022, to February 15, 2023. The position can be carried out remotely but there is a preference for the consultant to be located in Eastern Europe, Geneva, Stockholm or Berlin.

End date: February 15, 2023
