New attempts of uprooting Bushmen

After years of struggle and despite court rulings in their favour, the Basarwa still face harrassments on their ancestral land.“There have been numerous cases of arrests and intimidation over the past year”, Rachel Stenham, of Survival International (RLA 1989), told Think Africa Press. “The government is using tactics to once again uproot the Bushmen from their ancestral land.”

The First People of the Kalahari and Roy Sesana received the Right Livelihood Award in 2005.
