German sustainability expert Reinhard Loske has been elected as a member of Right Livelihood’s Board.
He brings decades of experience as a scholar, researcher and author on climate policy and social transformation. Previously, he has served as a member of the German Bundestag, including as environmental policy spokesman for the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen party. Between 2007 and 2011, he was Senator for the Environment, Construction, Transport and Europe in the city of Bremen.
Among other positions, Loske is Senior Associate Fellow of the German Foreign Policy Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik) and a member of ECOROPA, the European Network for Ecological Reflection and Action.
He will serve a four-year term as Board member.
“The Right Livelihood Foundation has accompanied and impressed me since my early days working in the ecology and North-South movements, sustainability research and politics,” Loske said. “The fact that it repeatedly succeeds in bringing worldwide attention to and increasing the impact of courageous people and their forward-looking ideas is great. I look forward to serving on the Board of this global network of hope.”
