Right Livelihood College opens first campus in Latin America

On 11 November, the Right Livelihood Award Foundation announced Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) in Valdivia, Chile to be sixth Right Livelihood College campus and the first in Latin America.

The opening of a campus at Universidad Austral was initiated by Right Livelihood Laureate Manfred Max-Neefduring the first regional conference of Latin American Laureates in Colombia last July.

During the ceremony, the rector of the UACh, Dr. Victor Cubillos, said: “The signing of this agreement is a historic event as we are formalizing a strategic alliance with a highly recognized and important international foundation in order to establish in Valdivia and our University a Right Livelihood College headquarters. Thus, UACh will become the Latin American headquarters that aims to promote the academic work of our students with the support of those who have been recognized with the Right Livelihood Award, as is the case of our former rector and professor Dr. Manfred Max-Neef. “
