Acceptance speech – Freda Huson

All of us are well aware of climate change, and it is people that are the change we need. We can’t rely on politicians or governments to make the change for us, so all of us have to be part of that change.

Thank you also to the many folks who have stood by us during this fight, whether you are fellow Wet’suwet’en, fellow Canadians, or from the United States. There are many people who have stepped forward to help us with our fight. Stepped forward to raise awareness about the environment, fight for future generations. 

And [it is] a fight in which we’re all together. Thank you!
