Right Livelihood Centre Zurich

The Right Livelihood Centre of the University of Zurich acts as a hub between Right Livelihood, the University of Zurich (UZH) and the public. The Centre contributes to teaching, continuing education and public relations to make Right Livelihood Laureates’ knowledge and practical work accessible. At the same time, the centre helps to transfer academic research in the area of human rights and sustainability into the work of Right Livelihood.

The foundation for the cooperation with the University of Zurich is an annual lecture that took place in 2008 for the first time at the University’s Aula. Ever since a current Laureate holds a public lecture about their work and knowledge in November or December every year. Since 2020, the centre is assigned to the UZH Sustainability Delegate.

    The Campus at the University of Córdoba is hosted by the Faculty of Psychology, which has more than 10,000 students enrolled. Founded by Right Livelihood Laureate Raúl Montenegro, the Campus was inaugurated in April 2016.

    The Centre for Livelihoods and Social Innovation is a centre in the School of Social Work at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences that aims to develop meaningful livelihood initiatives for the poor and marginalised in the country. In May 2014, the Centre joined as an RLC Campus in Asia.

    The RLC Campus in Bonn is based at the Center for Development Research (ZEF), an independent research institute at the University of Bonn. It became an RLC Campus in 2010 and since 2014, it has hosted the Global Secretariat of the College.

    The RLC Campus is hosted by the Institute for Social Transformation at the University of California, which develops research-based solutions to urgent problems. The Campus has kept its links with Kresge College, where it was started in November 2013.

    In 2009, the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS) became RLC’s first European Campus. LUCSUS is a platform for education, research and cooperation inside and outside academia on questions related to sustainable development.

    The Campus at the University of Port Harcourt is based at the Faculty of Social Sciences and is co-hosted by the Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF), a think-tank and advocacy organisation founded by 2010 Laureate Nnimmo Bassey.
