Tata Institute of Social Sciences

Tata Institute of Social Sciences is an institution of excellence in higher learning in India, which has consistently worked for the promotion of sustainable, equitable and participatory development, social welfare and social justice since its inception in 1936.

The Centre for Livelihoods and Social Innovation is a centre in the School of Social Work that aims to emerge as a learning and innovation centre to develop meaningful livelihood initiatives for the poor and marginalised in the country. The Centre also offers an M.A. Social Work programme in Livelihoods and Social Entrepreneurship. In May 2014, the Centre joined as an RLC Campus in Asia.

In March 2015, the campus hosted the regional conference for Right Livelihood Laureates in Asia and the Pacific.

The RLC Campus in Bonn is based at the Center for Development Research (ZEF), an independent research institute at the University of Bonn. It became an RLC Campus in 2010 and since 2014, it has hosted the Global Secretariat of the College.

The Campus at the University of Port Harcourt is based at the Faculty of Social Sciences and is co-hosted by the Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF), a think-tank and advocacy organisation founded by 2010 Laureate Nnimmo Bassey.
