Right Livelihood Award Foundation StaffDo you want to be the megaphone for some of the world’s most astonishing change makers, such as Edward Snowden (USA), Khadija Ismayilova (Azerbaijan) and Kasha Jacqueline Nabagesera (Uganda)? The Right Livelihood Award Foundation, which annually presents the ‘Alternative Nobel Prize’, is recruiting a full-time salaried Communications Trainee to join our international communications team for 6 months.

About us

Established in 1980, the Right Livelihood Award Foundation honours and supports courageous people and organisations offering visionary and exemplary solutions to the root causes of global problems. The Swedish Foundation sees its role as being the megaphone and shield for the Laureates, and provides them with long-term support. It seeks to help protect those award recipients whose life and liberty are in danger. In total there are now 174 Laureates from 70 countries. The Foundation has Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council.

Your role

Our Laureates have solutions to the most urgent challenges of our time and we help them get their messages across through press work and communication in digital channels. As our Communications and Graphic Design Trainee, you will be an integral part of a highly motivated international communications team, facilitating and supporting its different activities.

The work will include close contact with our office in Geneva and our communications consultants in Argentina, Germany and Great Britain. You will report to the Digital Communications Manager in Stockholm.

Main job responsibilities

– Layout and graphic design
– Management of website and newsletter
– Media monitoring
– Administrative work related to send lists and database

Qualifications

– Knowledge about and interest in social, environmental, human rights and/or development issues
– Fluency in English. Additional language skills are highly valued
– Experience in social media and website management, preferably in WordPress
– Experience in graphic design, using Adobe Creative Suite
– Higher education relevant for the position (ongoing or finished)

Terms of employment

This is a full-time position based in Stockholm, for a period of 6 months.
Monthly salary: 10 676 SEK (before tax)
Starting date: As soon as possible
