Laureates sign open letter to Botswana President

In an open letter, over 30 laureates urge President Khuma to allow the Bushmen access to a well on which they rely for their water supply. ‘The Bushmen were illegally evicted from their lands. To deny them access to their well is inexcusable’, the laureates state. ‘Without access to water, a fundamental human right, they are struggling to sustain their way of live on their ancestral lands’.

This joint effort, organized by laureate organization Survival International, comes one week before the Right Livelihood Anniversary Conference in Bonn, where the Laureates will convene to discuss these challenges.
